hi, i have iphone 6 ios 10, my problem is when i am trying to call somebody my microphone not working at regular call but during facetime or whatsapp call everything working normally, what do you think i have to do ? thanks for helpers

When you are using FaceTime or WhatsApp are you talking like you talk on a normal call (holding the phone to your ear) or are these more of video call variety where you are holding and looking at the phone and basically using a speakerphone? When making regular calls, does the microphone not work when you are holding the phone to your ear or when you are using speakerphone (or it doesn't work in either of the cases)?

So with normal (cellular/mobile) calls if you try using speakerphone or if you use the phone next your ear none of that works--the person you are calling just can't hear you? Have you tried using headphones? It sounds like it's not really the microphone since different microphones are in use and work in other apps apparently.

Have you tried resetting your phone? Maybe taking your SIM out and putting it back in? Perhaps resetting network settings if not even all settings?

My 6 did this for the last 14 or so months. I had to use speakerphone for every single call. I couldn't figure out what the problem was so I upgraded to the 7 and it's so nice to not have my conversations broadcast to everyone within earshot.

I realize that's not very helpful but just know you're not alone.

Well, it seems that the user is having the issues with speakerphone as well when it comes to regular calls. On the other hand no issues with any microphones when using FaceTime or something similar.

In your particular scenario, I had a device with similar issues off and on which seemed to be some sort of a hardware issue basically--I ended up taking it to Apple and had it replaced.
