Had my iPhone 6 since launch, and scanned in my thumbs and forefingers for Touch ID. Have worked almost flawlessly but recently ( since beginning of Jan ) it has been getting more and more reluctant to work - as if it's recognition abilities are degrading. I note this applies more to my right hand, which I use more often.

I have tried deleting the stored prints, and rescanning them, but that hasn't cured things.

Any ideas?

CHEERS :)

I've had similar problems with my 6 since launch, but mainly in the last few weeks. Forefinger scans still work, but my thumbs are rarely recognised.

I'm having the same problem with my 6 Plus. Over time, and we're talking two days, it will forget my thumb print and I have to retrain it all over again and then it works flawlessly for a few days and then the cycle repeats itself.

Have any of you solved your problems? I may have to take my phone to a Genius. :confused:

I've noticed accuracy has suddenly dropped after the iOS 8.2 update. I was thinking about rescanning my fingers, but I'll wait for iOS 8.3.

This problem has reared its ugly head again. I don't know how you plan to solve it, but I'm going to schedule a genius appointment. :confused:

So far no on my new 5s/32 ... as I am guessing that I am on the same iOS as you guys.

Only had it about a month now ... and maybe in 60 days it will kick in.

Let you know ... but it seems to be a 6/6plus problem as no 5s has reported it ???

If so ... then that speaks to hardware to my reckoning or maybe the firmware might be the issue involved since the hardware has been updated in the new iPhone if the iOS changes slightly ... if not .. then that would cement it in my mind ... it has to be hardware.

:eek::eek::eek:
