Hi! My iPhone 6 went for a swim last week, and despite sitting in rice (no gel packets) for 2 days, it has decided that it will no longer work. This makes me sad.
However, while I wait for the 7S to come out in 2017 (I hear it will have waaaay more upgrades than the 7 in 9/16), I will use an older phone that my company has lying around.
This brings up a problem, however.
My iphone 6 - which I do not back up to the could, is a 64G.
The loaner iphone 5 (maybe5s?) is only 16G.
I cannot restore the phone to the loaner from iTunes bc there is not enough room on the loaner.
I am ok with only restoring my contacts and a few select apps, but I don't know how to do this.

Anyone have a suggesting for
A. Reviving my 6 (preferred, of course)
B. Restoring partial data from iTunes to loaner phone without losing the rest of the backup (for new phone in the future)

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have a suggestion for reviving your water damaged iPhone 6. Just let it dry for a few more days and keep your fingers crossed that it will come back to life.

Restoring partial data from either iCloud or iTunes will probably require a third party app. You can try this app (iSkysoft) to see if it works for you. Another point... if your iPhone 6 was running the latest version of iOS and your loaner 5 is not, you may have difficulty restoring until you update the 5 to the same version. I'm sure other members will have additional suggestions for you. Good luck and I hope you get your data back that you need.

If the damage is clear water, which has no chemicals, than the rice will work, however than it's not even needed, cause normal water will not do any long term damage if you let it dry properly.
The rice does nothing when the liquid contains any chemicals. it's the chemicals that do the damage, not the water.
So the rice wll do nothing.
