Suddenly my iPhone 6 will not charge using the Apple power cord. I have tried several different ones (all Apple) with the same result. I keep getting an error message that "the accessory may not be supported"

However, if I power the phone off and plug in the same power cord, it will charge. As soon as I power up the phone, it ceases charging and give me the same message. Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Sounds like a hardware issue with the phone.
Bring it to Apple to have it checked out. Most likely they will replace it if there is no physical or liquid damage to it.

hmmm, okay--thanks for the reply. There is definitely no damage to the phone. In fact, it was working fine up until this morning. The only thing I've done different in the last few days was the IOS update.....

Id try a full restore with itunes before you bring it in.
Also blow out the bottom usb dock in case there is any dust, lint or dirt stuck up there.

Thanks again, I will try the back up and restore on iTunes, but I'm struggling with this being a port issue, because it charges the phone when powered off....odd.....
