The last few days when I unlock my phone with my finger the screen is unresponsive. It would take a few seconds until the screen would work again. This morning it wouldn't respond at all.

I tried swiping and using my password but screen still unresponding.

I did a hard restart and now I need to use password but screen is still locked.

Any ideas how to fix?

I took it into an Apple Store and they did their tests and couldn't find a issue with either hardwear or software and the last test they did was thy erased phone and started as new

It was working but 5 minutes walking around the mall it started doing it again so I went back to the store and they couldn't figure it out so they said I needed a new screen.

I told them I wanted to think about it and I would come back.

I walked around the mall and finally open the phone.

I m actually typing is message from the phone.

Once you can unlock it it works great. This I why I don't think it is the screen.

I asked them what it the issue exists after I get a new screen but they had no answer to this.

Any thoughts on what other options I have ?

Thanks

The screen may be working intermittently. If it's not going to cost too much to change out the screen, I believe I would let Apple change it out. If it turns out not to be the screen, take the phone back to them. Chances are they'll replace the phone with a "new refurbished 6+" at no cost to you.

I have noticed it's not responding again but not as much.

The only way to get the screen to respond is to bang the iPhone on something hard like my knee or elbow. This fixes it everytime.

Do you think it's a hardware issue?

It sure sounds like a hardware issue if you have to bang the phone to get it to work. Like I said above, let Apple change out the screen. No point in banging the phone each time since that may lead to other problems.

Had the same issue, brought it to the store for a full swap. Mine had lines going through the screen.

What would they do if fixing the screen doesn't solve the issue?
