Hey guys,
sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section, but I want to ask a simple question with regards to the known issue with the iphone.

Since they are replacing the phones, how do I make sure that I get a brand new phone?
If not, how sure are we that the replacement ones will work fine or better than before?
I always get scared with refurbished because they have been replaced with parts only. I still prefer a brand new set.

What are your inputs?
Can I argue with the store since I bought a brand new phone?

You get a replacement. If the replacement has issues you can get it replaced or fixed. The idea is that it should be better than the phone you are replacing since it shouldn't have the issue that you are getting a replacement for.

Thanks for the reply. But aren't brand new iphones more reliable than refurbished ones?
I wanna make sure I get a new one since I paid for a new phone.

How old is the phone that you have that you would be replacing?

As you can see based on all kinds of threads on forums like this one people have issues even with brand new sealed phones.

I bought it last october, so warranty is up.
I wanted to know if its gonna get replaced with a new one or not... really disappointing if it's not new.

There is no way to make sure that the phone you are getting is brand new or not. However, if you are not having any issues with the refurbished one then enjoy it... (No need of getting that much concerned about the new or old. As far as it is working correct for you, it is worth it. Because people are finding the brand new phones even faulty now.)

It will likely be a replacement phone and not a brand new one. After all the phone you are replacing is a used one that has been in use for over a year.
