Iphone 6s chirp when dialing?

Just upgraded from a 5s to 6s. I noticed that whenever I make a call as soon as I hit the dial button there is a sound sort of like a chirp - like the sound a smoke alarm makes when the battery is dead. Is this happening to anyone else? Its minorly annoying but I'm ok with it as long as it's supposed to be happening.

Sorry if something about this has been posted elsewhere, I looked but didn't see anything....
 
I posted this on a different thread, but:

I have a network extender for Verizon, and yes it makes a chirp/connecting sound right before the call is taken to let you know that it's using that. Are you in an apartment? Maybe a neighbor has an extender. By default, any Verizon customer can connect to it unless the owner turns it on by a phone # basis.
 
I'm experiencing the same thing (I started that other thread) and it seems to be intermittent. Sometimes it chirps before every call, sometimes the screen glitches/flashes and it connects without a chirp, and sometimes it works normally.

Sorry for the duplicate thread, I searched before I posted but yours didn't come up!

Your sound is exactly the one I have. From what I can tell it seems to do it all the time. In regard to the extender, yes I live in an apartment but I don't have Verizon so I don't know if that could be it? I will try calls in a few locations tomorrow. I also noticed tonight that while I am on the phone the screen flashed at various times for no apparent reason. Not sure what that's about either or if its related.
 
It's not the LTE calling feature that's available with iPhone's (I think 6 and above?). Not sure about your carrier, but Verizon's instructions in the box told me to go to settings-->cellular-->Enable LTE-->Voice & Data

I initially got that too when I was trying to activate the other line. It apparently wasn't activated yet, and made that chirp noise and ended the call right away. I guess it went away once I was officially activated with Verizon and didn't think much of it. It's wouldn't be wifi calling would it?

That seems similar to mine. They were so sudden and new I didn't really figure anything out. I've never heard it before. 3 years on vzw, now 1 on T-Mobile. iPhone 4,5,6 before, now it shows up with the 6s.

Just tried a few calls both on lte and on wifi, no chirp so far today.

I'm wondering if it is a switch between connections. Wifi to lte, or lte to 4G, or between lte bands.

It's been posted. Remove the plastic.
 
I posted this in my thread as well. There is no plastic on my phone, but it is in a Catalyst waterproof case. I wonder if there is some relation? Some type of feedback or noise cancellation issue caused by the case?

It would seem to definitely be hardware related. Here is a vid I took which shows the chirp occurring every time I switch the audio source from my car to the phone:

Same for me, Tmobile, never had an issue like this before.

I don't use wifi calling so it can't be that.

Can you test it without the case? I think it's some sort of air coming out of the phone that's causing the whistle while being covered with plastic or a case.
 
That's not the issue for me. This was clearly coming from the speaker, and there is nothing over it on my phone. I have a simple bumper style case.
