The touchscreen on my phone randomly stops working throughout the day. Has been doing it for around 2 weeks now so getting to the point where I need to sort it.

The screen stops responding, I toggle the screen on and off, the screen is working again. Seems to be random as I cant consistently replicate it.

I presume its a hardware fault as I have done a full phone wipe from scratch and still have the same issue.

So is this a cheapish fix if I take it to an apple store or another company, or will the cost of repair basically 'write-off' the phone?

Well, you aren't really going to know for sure until you get someone to look at it are you? In the meantime, you might find out what may need replacing by going to www.ifixit.com and see what they and others say.

Replacing a screen on an iPhone 6S is not that expensive, relative to the value of the phone. Whether you go to Apple or a reputable independent repair shop, the cost should be in the same range. Be wary of low-cost repairs...these are usually done with lower quality aftermarket screens. This can be fine if your budget conscious, just be certain to get a shop that offers a decent warranty.

Have you had your iPhone screen replaced before? Like a mall kiosk or a mobile iPhone screen repair? You may have a problem if its an aftermarket part.
