So I was browsing YouTube and stumble upon this review for a 6s Replica. In no way am I promoting, endorsing or support what china does. I would also never get a phone like this or encourage anyone to.

I was simply amazed at how good of a replica it is. It also seems to be snappy for what it is.

There area pile of these knockoffs in the resell market pretending to be legit. I know someone who recently went to buy a 6s and was presented with the knockoff, thankfully he knew what to look out for - but if someone else didn't they could easily be duped. There are lots of S6 knock offs too which are likewise surprisingly convincing. Which again makes the second hand market a really trechorous place at times.

That's freakin nuts. My dream has always been to have Apple's hardware but with the freedom of Android software. I haven't googled it yet, but while I go research do you know where this works? Does is have LTE radios for the US? I'd definitely buy this if it was a plus model.

Wow DHgate.com is a scary place. It's amazing what's out there, not only the replicas but the original stuff as well.

$185 for 16gb version. I'm a bit spooked by the hard drive comments though. 16gb is the base, and I thought I heard the reviewer say you could ask for more memory as a SD card, I'm guessing internally? I'd be curious to see disc drive benchmarks to see how much this would slow it down. But then again at $185 it probably doesn't matter!

I wonder if they would put a black face on a gold one? I always wish Apple offered that combo. I also wonder how they handle upgrades to the OS, or if there aren't any. I would probably just load stock Android on there as I have very little desire to have it look like iOS. What's the chances you can just load vanilla Android onto one of these things?

It looks like it has the bands it needs for US LTE. Although they do say this:

"Some phones we declared "1:1" words means it is copy phones, you should know it before make an order. And the Copy Phones always need to change the IMEI number when you get it before the first time to use. Because the copy phones only have fake IMEI number, you always need to change it to fit for your SIM card."

Doesn't sound too promising and maybe unlawful.

Oh wow. I remember when I was living in the Caribbean I ordered a s5 for $630 on amazon and had it shipped to the island I was on. When it came it was a knock off. Amazon only refunded the purchase price. I had to pay shipping both ways ($150).

What's the chances that they are made in the same factory. . But leave out the back door..

Honestly the way these are so much alike I would not be shocked. Although I still doubt that it happens.

I see you have been doing research based on your other post lol. I don't know anything about it, just saw the video and thought it was the closest replica I've seen. The finger print scanner seems blazing fast...even faster than the 6s nd 6p.

not sure about loading vanilla Android. Since the chip it uses is not a popular chip in regards to roms and also since the phone itself is not popular. However this is not my area of expertise.

I honestly would not trust the quality of these phones though.

I don't think I'd use it long term or anything. I would probably just take it out once in a while when socializing, makes a cool conversation piece.

Edit: Haha, there is a 6s plus model. Too bad, with that IMEI thing I'd assume they don't work with US carriers.

Wow, that knockoff is going to create a lot of victims. Especially on Craigslist.

Ah, good old GooPhones. They've even gone so far as to threaten to sue Apple for looking alike :D

They actually have a pretty good rep in China because, even though the hardware is nothing to brag about, the iOS skin over Android is supposed to be quite good, and they sell in quantity to resellers for as low as $50.

They also use a microUSB instead of the far more expensive Apple connectors, and thicker glass instead of Gorilla glass. Yet they often weigh less than the iPhone they're trying to look like.

In fact, many Chinese clonemakers clone GooPhones, right after GooPhone has cloned the look of an iPhone.

Specs are quite poor though - standard variant has

i6S Plus variants

512mb ram 4gb (storage)
960x540 screen resolution
Mediatek dual core chip

More expensive version
1gb ram 4gb rom
1136x640
Mediatek dual core

There is a reason they are dirt cheap ;)

Hmm not sure where you got that info. However the one in the video is:
720p
2gb ram
Mediatek octa core (one of their better processors)
16,32 and 64 GB storage.

The battery is 1750 mah...so perhaps 2 hrs SOT and 6 hours usage?

Got it from actual ebay listings of the device. The 720p is actually wrong if you look at specs - its actually under. But then in a knockoff phone should we really be surprised by 'liquid' specifications.

I saw one of the review videos that the specs advertised on the box are wrong and that as mentioned above, instead of LTE, it is 3G only and the storage space is very limited, also not as advertised. The reviewer had a model where when he put the back cover back on, one of the screws stripped and made a bulge in the top of the case.

Remember, the specs listed on the box or ad or there to make it look like an iPhone.

What do you make of the IMEI issue? Seems they provide a "fake" IMEI and you somehow have to re-implement a valid one from your own SIM card possibly. I would assume there is some legality issue around that, but I'm not sure. Otherwise if it was legal I have no idea how difficult it would be to do.

I spent a couple hours researching them. The only issue seems to be storage, where most of the storage is an internal sd card which I would assume is slower.

The 6s+ clone I was particularly impressed with. 1920x1080, but it had the internal sd card and 1gb ram as well. Seems like they are getting closer and closer though, I'm amazed they have a FP sensor and that it actually works well. I can't see being very far away from clones with the same specs as flagships, and even better specs beyond that.
