I still see no improvements in the stuttery animations or scrolling. But my iPhone 5, which doesn't run on Metal, is running just as good as in iOS 8 now. It makes no sense.

Lagtastic.

Thinking about resetting settings. That seemed to have helped on IOS8 I think when it was released.

Try a clean install, especially on beta!

6s Plus. Animations are ok for the most part, save for the 3D Touch menus, which are very sluggish.

its a shame because the processor is super fast in loading apps and playing games but the animations are making it seem slow.

If the newest iPhone is lagging on iOS 9, then Apple will certainly fix these performance issues.

It's a shame that iOS 9.1 beta 4 doesn't give us a glimpse of such improvement.

some are saying that this is the final iOS 9.1 beta, the next one is GM. Hopefully they don't somehow forget to fix this.

It's buttery smooth on my 6S. Noticeably better than 9.0.2

Same here. PB4 has been great and very smooth overall. I've found setting 3D touch sensitivity to Firm takes away any delay in 3D popup menus on the home screen. Firm also doesn't seem to take much to any firmer of a press to trigger the popup action menus than Light on this version...and they seem to have lightened up the required pressure needed to activate the app switcher (hard press on left side of screen) vs previous versions. Interestingly enough, the Light/Med/Firm sensitivity settings in the 3D touch settings menu doesn't seem to affect the 3D touch app switcher at all. Seems easier than ever to activate for me now. Though TBH, once I got the hang of it before on 9.0.2 and PBs 1-3, I could basically trigger it every time. It just takes less pressure now. Which is a good thing to me.

I really hope they don't. They shouldn't. It'd be waaaaay too stupid.

iOS 9 has been laggy since the very first beta. Tested them all, all atrociously laggy (Control Center lag, app switcher lag, Spotlight lag, etc.). I was almost convinced that it would be fixed with the GM of 9.0 but nope!

My hopes aren't high.

on your lock screen, do you see stutter when sliding up the control center?

I've found that, like many, turning on 'Reduce Transparency' makes a lot of difference. I'm not sure why Apple can't, with an A9 processor and Metal, get motion blur and transparency correct on the 6s+. I get that there's downscaling, but the latest release of El Capitan pretty much fixed everything on my 2012 Macbook Pro Retina (which also scales) and I believe that's attributed to Metal.

I suspect this won't be 'fixed' until iPhone 7 if/when the virtual and real screen resolution are equal (or even multipliers of one another).

Did not mean to quote myself...

They never fixed the 6+

Works great on my 6S. Seems like the 3D Touch slide to previous app/multitasking is a lot easier to activate.

I usually turn "reduce motion" on but after reading all of the problems people were I decided to turn it off to see what would happen.

The animations were refreshing but this was ugly.

I just experienced this same problem and filed a bug.
