Hi

In Nov I bought a Jet black iPhone 7 from eBay as I fancied a change of colour after owning my Rose Gold the previous 25 months the seller said it had hardly been used and when it arrived the battery health was at 94%

Anyway bout 2 or so weeks later it dropped then more weeks past and the same this has been ongoing till this day where the health is now reading 84%

I’ve been installing all the latest updates but I’m abit baffled why the battery is dropping so fast in a matter of weeks any help

Thanks ☺️

Well, if you are near an Apple Store, I’d make every effort to get an appointment before the 31st of December to have them put a new battery in the phone for $29. They’ll do it no questions asked! Price goes up after that!.

My advice is to bring the phone into Apple and let them run diagnostics and go for the battery replacement.

Thanks I will go tomorrow try and get them to see me as soon as they open there doors as the next appointment is Wed but battery replacement will be £45 then

My theory? After market battery. Installed a battery on a 5s and after over 1 yr the battery health sky dived.
I’m not sure the battery is lasting perfectly still and it’s never experienced any unexpected shut down like my rose gold one did and that was on 87%

I’m going to hope for the best tomorrow get it seen hopefully bright and early

Thank you ☺️

Thanks as said I’m getting up crack of dawn and going to take a 2 hour trip down to them in hope they can look at it as soon as they open there doors

Thanks All got battery replaced yesterday was abit concerned about maybe a third party battery might be in it but that wasn’t so

Apple ran there diagnostics on it twice and couldn’t find problem so I really don’t know what made the battery drop that much Perhaps it was a bad battery or iOS who knows ‍♀️

A good ending, just in time! (As you probably know, the $29 price ends 12/31.)

Yep it goes upto £45 it that much still but way better then paying £79.99 as it was before

Glad it’s sorted anyway and if it drops again I’m sure I can go and get them to sort it free next time as it has a warranty

Hopefully your battery is not aftermarket battery i heard that apple may decline battery replacement for $29.00

Did they give an option or force you to update to latest iOS? I am trying to avoid an iOS Update for this Battery Replacement as the Partner Store insists they have to do it.

Nope I had already updated to the latest iOS prior to going to the store lol I also answered your same question on the other thread ;)
