Tried to reset my iPhone 7 using the reset method holding down the power button and the down
volume button. NOW the down volume button turns off the iPhone 7 like the power button does.
Can not decrease the volume or ringer any more...

I have reset to factory and restored...any ideas????

That is a strange, unusual issue. Is your Change with Buttons option toggled On in Settings - Sounds just below Ringer and Alerts?

Yes it is on.

Very strange. Typically, when an iPhone is restored after a factory reset, all its previous settings are restored back. Hence, a better alternative would be to reset and set it up as a new device. Of course, you will lose all your data and settings. Having said that, your phone does seem to have a problem. So if you do not want to do all this, I'd rather go to an Apple Store.

Problem solved: turns out it was the case, when doing the reset, I put too much pressure on the case
Causing it to effect the down volume button..removed the case the button worked correctly. Adjusted
the case, put it back on, all is ok now.
