Hey guys, first time poster here. I have 2 spare iPhone 7's that I'm looking to sell. Here's my problem, both screens are completely shot along with the home buttons (The home button flex cable on 1 iPhone is ripped and the other one is damaged) .

The assistive touch works on both phones, just not the buttons. I ordered two full digitizer assemblies with the home button, camera, and speaker already installed earlier today. So my question is if I restore both phones to factory settings with the new home button and digitizer installed will the phone register the new home button when I power them back up and allow the home button to work? Or am I screwed?

I can't say this from experience, only from
Other readings, but something to consider was "Error 53", which was an issue Briefly where if the iPhone home button was tampered with under third party repair, it bricked the iPhone with an "Error 53" message. I believe that's been rectified through an iOS update.

Here is more information on Error 53.

My understanding is aftermarket iPhone 7 home buttons do not work at all. They cannot be paired with the motherboard and do not react to input. It cannot be used to exit an app or wake the phone. You need to transplant the original home button to the new display otherwise you need to have AssistiveTouch on.
