Q. Is there a maximum number of apps that can be contained in the desktop of an iPhone 7 Running iOS 13.1.3?

I have 700 + Apps on my iPhone, many in folders, and when I download a new App I cannot find it anywhere on the desktop although I have over 60 Gb spare in my available memory. I can run the app (if I can remember its name) by searching for it on page 0 of the desktop so the app has been installed.

iOS has never been particularly intelligent about this sort of thing. The icon is being installed "somewhere": sometimes it's the end of the last page, sometimes it's a free space on page two, maybe it'll stick it in a folder it thinks is appropriate depending on which way the wind blows. I have a phone with very few apps that don't even fill a single page. Whenever I install a new one, iOS insists on creating a new blank page 2 and putting it there instead of any of the open spaces at the bottom of page 1, and I have to drag it back every time. You'll just have to swipe around until you find it (or keep launching it via search).

The grid was a fine idea back in 2007 when there were only a dozen apps but it totally falls over in today's world. Folders are only a crutch and Apple stubbornly refuses to allow any alternative organization or layout methods like what's available on Android.
