I stayed up late last night to preorder the iPhone 7 Plus and make sure I order it so I get day one but there is a HUGE issue. It used the shipping address of my account and I will not be around that location, in fact I am across the country and Apple is not allowing me to edit the shipping address. I called and waited 2 and a half hours to speak with someone for them to tell me there is nothing they can do and that I could try calling Citizens One who does the financing and they can't change the shipping address either so I am pretty much screwed but there has to be something that can be done as its just Preparing for Shipment and has not shipped yet. I really need help to make sure I get this phone on the 16th at my location and need all the help and ideas I can get. I have emailed tcook@apple.com to see if that will help but please guys help me out, thanks!

Seems like the best option is to cancel and order again. Sucks :/

Lots of us are having shipping address issues.

Sorry, emailing Tim Cook about a pre order is probably not going to help. If you've called Apple and they said they can't help, you have only 2 options left: cancel and re-order or go to the store (or a carrier store) on Launch Day and hope for the best.

But then it won't ship for 2-3 extra weeks :/ Also I can't cancel unless I call Citizens One since its Preparing for Shipment and tell them to reject the loan but then that could cause problems with my upgrade eligibility or being able to do it again.

You cannot edit the shipping address. They are being really specific about it because they want to make sure your phone does not get stolen. The best thing you can do is have it held at a location. FedEx and UPS will do so if you sign up for their free services (FedEx Delivery Manager or UPS MyChoice). That way, once you get back to that location, you can pick it up and they will keep it safe and secure until you do. If the address belongs to a family member, have them sign for it and then ship it to you.

That location is in North Carolina and I am in California. I don't have anyone in North Carolina who can pick it up for weeks. I need it shipped to California

Maybe once you know what carrier is being used to ship it you can have them re-route it?

Cancelling would not be a good option as that means it will have to ship in 2-3 weeks rather than shipping so its gets here on the 16th

Anyone have luck changing address of iPhone while its preparing for shipment?

You can't change anything once it hits that stage, only during processing. I'd cancel and re-order. Sucks you'll have to wait a couple weeks, but it's either that or take your chances in-store next Friday.

I'd cancel and order again. But make sure you fix the address issue.

So even though mine is an iPhone Upgrade Program order and it is currently in Preparing to ship, the guy I spoke with over the phone told me that he submitted a shipping investigation that could take 24-48 hours so lets hope they get it and approve before shipping as it needs to ship to California and right now its said to ship to North Carolina.

Well then you should have changed your address before you ordered. All I can suggest is cancel and go to your local store to order. The world won't end if you don't get your new phone on the 16th. Good luck!

so youre saying you purchased via the IUP and they let you change the shipping address? i spent 3 hours on the phone today to be told that IUP orders have locked shipping addresses and cannot be edited at all.

They told me that too but I called again and spoke with someone else and he submitted a ticket to the shipping department but not sure if it will actually benefit.
