Hello!

I'm wanting to make my own wallpaper for my iPhone 7 Plus and need some pointers. My idea is very specific as far as placement goes because I'm wanting to have an image viewable on all pages at certain areas.

With that, what are the dimensions I should be working off of? I know the resolution is 1920x1080, but what about icon spacing from other apps, spacing from the sides of the phone, menu bar size, etc? I've been looking on the forums and google, but everything I am finding is either an app or an actual wallpaper.

Any help is appreciated! I'm looking forward to creating this :)

Are you trying to make an image that somewhat snakes around icons on the home screen? If so that seems like it'll cause headaches, as you have no way of knowing how many icons are on the page, or if the icons are increased in scale.

If it's just for personal stuff, it'll be easier. Anyway, you'll struggle to find information like that as it's very specific. Why don't you just fill your home screen with apps, take a screenshot, then load this into Photoshop or whatever and go from there?

That's a great first step! Thanks for the suggestion. :)

It's definitely for personal use, so the icon size and how many are on each page is totally up to me. Nothing too crazy as far as "snaking" is concerned, more of a static image. The vagueness is simply because I know there are amazing MR people who would simply upload what I'm looking to do and I'm wanting a more hands on approach. That being said, I think I'll start with the screenshot and go from there.

Cheers!

You could set a black background and take a screenshot. Then you could select just black and you should get a good template. You might have to fix up a few things (like deleting text) but they should be minor. It is fairly simple to do, and you will have a nice template to work from.

You will need to turn off parallax as it slightly zooms into an image to allow for the image to tilt. And the plus phones also rotate the home screen in landscape mode, so you might need to turn that off as well.

Added a sample template i made.

Thanks for that! I've been working on my idea and I'm running into issues. Maybe some additional info might help me help you help me. Jeez that's convoluted.

I am wanting to have a background that is basically like a notebook of lined paper where I can write some todo list type items. I've used all the reminder type apps out there, but I find it's super easy to ignore the badge when I don't want to do something or simply want to snooze.

I (along with everyone in the world) used to take simple notes on my hand and I would tend to get them done because of how prevalent the reminder was. So if I had this static to do list on my wallpaper and lock screen I would always see it.

So I am thinking of limiting each page to 2 or 3 rows of apps/folders plus what's on the dock and then using the space for this notebook looking paper where I can just change the text in a photoshop file.

Hell, even a terminal type screen with the todo written out in that style (green text, black background, maybe even in pseudo sounding code). Just something for the constant procrastinator in me. I have a super basic one I did on my phone now, but it took way more time to add the text than it should have and I haven't found a good way to change it yet. The good news is my reminder is still there! lol
