I just noticed today that my iPhone 7 128GB seems to have a problem with autofocus when in slo-mo video mode. As I move the camera around, it is constantly trying to reset the autofocus and so my subject is often out of focus. The only way to avoid this is to fix the focus with tap or long-press.
The autofocus works fine in all of the other camera modes and standard video mode, it is just the slo-mo mode where the it keeps trying to refocus. A hard reset did nothing.
I am guessing that the fact the autofocus works in all other modes surely means the hardware is sound, so is this a software glitch? I haven't found anything similar mentioned anywhere or any other forums, but wonder if anybody else had spotted this issue - or can you guys check your 7 or 7 Plus to see if you can replicate it?
Just use the slo-mo video mode and slowly move the camera around - does the camera keep trying to refocus every second or so?
