Apple has become a big disappointment, they have managed to screw up the whole product lineup .... sans macbook 12 and apple tv.

If you think about it from a greed standpoint it makes perfect sense:
  • Don't increase runtime hours too much so that when people's iPhone batteries degrade a bit over time they feel more just a little more compelled to buy a brand new iPhone to fix the issue.
  • Try to keep the battery life around the current norm. If that means adding in gimmicks that takes up precious hardware space then so be it. If you can't do that then make the device thinner. Whatever you have to do just keep shrinking the battery while relying upon processor efficiency gains to keep the status quo going.
