iPhone 8/Plus iPhone 8 glitchy/pausing/stuttering often??

Currently running 12.1.2. Just noticed 12.1.3 is available.

My 8 has been stuttering, pausing, choking for sometimes 10 seconds at a time. Just started 1-2 weeks ago. On WIFI or cellular. Touching the screen results in no action, and sometimes hitting the on/off button or home button results in no action.

Will go to the store, I'm not risking this. Anyone else seeing this lately?

I would start with installing the new iOS.

I have the same problem on my 7. I just reboot it. A temporary solution whilst waiting for a software fix.

Thanks. Yes, I planned to once home on WiFi today. But I wanted a point of reference now rather than keep waiting after the new iOS since my 8 operated perfectly since September until a week or two ago.

Thanks. I tried a hard reset twice now, to no improvement.
[doublepost=1548706867][/doublepost]I should add, speaking of stuttering, almost from day one, often notification alert tones/sounds would come out stuttering or coughing or glitching sounding. It’s not a regular thing that happens often enough to care. But now with bouts of unresponsive phone/screen, it’s sonethung to also watch. Curious if anybody’s experienced that?

Sounds like a busy processor, maybe an app hanging. Have you checked you battery app to see where the power is going?

Thx. Nothing seems too irregular to me, other than the phone usage seems strangely high.

My 7 has been doing this recently and the latest update didn’t fix it.

Just perform a clean install of iOS. You'll find several tutorials online including on YouTube
