IPhone 8 ios 12 failed nfc payment

Almsot though I was going to be facing a tough few weeks when a <15 U.K. groceries transaction failed in superstore.
I don't have any reason yet to try another transaction elsewhere.
Rushed home checked bank account and to my suprise if have some funds available.
Anyone experienced failed transaction message when using i phone 8.ios 12 -I use Apple Pay lots of times.
Not sure if this is a one off or ios12 related.
I have file to purchase over next day or two and I'll try another transaction.

Thanks I only mentioned ios 12 as I updated last night.
Hopefully one off only.
I'lll call rbs if any more transactions fail.
