On the 8 can you not get to the 16 update or do you need to download both.

I only see the option for 15.7 but loads of articles saying you don’t need to do 15.7 if you want 16? So how… does anyone know how to skip this and get 16 instead. Thanks

Thanks. Not for months, no.
Just did. But it’s still showing 15.7 after restarting

The top update will be for 15.7. At the bottom of the screen, you might need to scroll down an inch, there should be an option to upgrade to 16.
This surprised me. I too made the mistake of : "What the heck, I am not getting iOS 16 on my 13 Pro Max?" So I updated to 15.7 and wondered what was wrong. I too restarted. Like others, I missed the bottom line saying that Optional upgrade was iOS 16. lol.

So when my wife got home from work - I figured I'd see if she would do the same thing. Sure enough, same thing but she got 15.7 thinking it was iOS 16 and was confused why iOS 16 features were not available to her.

Make sure that you don't have any beta profiles installed.

Thanks all, you're correct, it didn't look like there was a scroll down, it's weird. I even clicked on the support domain to see if it was there.

Hope this thread helps others who are as stupid as me!
Thanks again people
