iPhone 8/Plus iPhone 8 Plus Free Space?

I am aware that I haven't posted for awhile and hate to ask, but I am a member of Macbb as well, and for some strange reason people have stopped answering my questions, either I did something wrong, or they are being Di#*S anyway, I really need help, if anyone could please help me

I am getting mixed messages from my iPhone. I go into Settings-About and it says i have 101.5GB free

I have apps called It's Playing for movies/tv shows and Diskspace that both say 87.2GB free

When I select iPhone Storage it says 154.5GB of 256GB Used

Getting confused is it the apps, is it my phone. How do I get a definitive answer?

Different apps will yield difference results. I think that iTunes should be most accurate but do not know for sure. I have so much memory available that I have never checked.

iTunes is usually fairly good but even that will differ from the iPhone's settings iPhone Storage. Best way I've found to be semi-accurate is to restart the phone, then check iPhone storage. Make sure you've done your iTunes/iCloud backups. Apps can reserve a lot of cache space, especially if you're a heavy video/music downloader. Restarting clears a lot of that used (but refundable) space.

But yeah kinda bugs me that nothing is really consistently accurate with iPhone storage. But it's that way on my Macbook Air/Mini as well - I can never get a consistent free space reading. I just chalk it up to how Unix/Linux does cache management and I've never had a problem with space so whatever. :/

I make sure to store static data on my external spinning drives so my 128GB Macbook Air and 256GB Mac Mini are usually very free on the OS drives and my iPhone is 256GB with only 40GB used.
