Hi guys,

Always read the forum. I have a problem that is getting very frustrating. I got my new iPhone 8 Plus 64gb 3 hours ago, restored from iTunes and I am getting the ‘storage full’ message, but almost half of the storage is available. What do you think this could be?

No, phone storage. Here is a screenshot. I don’t get it. Maybe I am missing something here.

Here is the storage full message. Also, it’s not letting me install the apps from the back up.

You have over 5gb tied up in old messages and large attachments within messages. I’d delete these first off if you can.

Right, but what about the other 30gb? It should be available. It doesn’t even let me take pictures.

Lul what. I take it you’ve tried resetting and/or updating it. Glitch caused by your iTunes restore I presume but might disappear after it finishes syncing all your iCloud stuff perhaps. Also is ‘optimise iPhone storage’ selected in photos settings (not that this should cause this problem until it physically downloads your library to fill up your storage, but who knows).

I had something similar happen to me a few years ago with my 6 Plus. After a FW update it doubled the amount of storage i had used for no reason. I had to restore as new, and then did a restore from an older backup.

It does seem there’s a glitch somewhere. Like others have suggested, do it over again. Good luck
