iphone 8 sudden notification sounds stopped

I have an iphone 8, suddenly all my notification sounds stopped. For phone ring, messenger etc. All other sounds work such as play a video etc. I never touched the settings, did look at them, all seem to be set properly.
The only thing I did do driving home was hooked up my phone to auto radio so I can hear a video while driving. Other than that never had an issue. Done all these things before and never had an issue.

If the settings and sound volume look right and Do Not Disturb isn't engaged…hard to know. I don't know if any of the "Reset" actions in General preferences affect notifications. Maybe someone else knows.

I've dealt with an iPad that wouldn't ring on Facetime calls and it had to be some corrupted user setting. When I did a "restore as new" installation the FT ringing worked. When I restored from the user's backup it stopped working again.
