I was considering this jump but I am reading that the display on the xr is lower resolution than the 8+. Do you think things will look grainy or pixelated after having an 8+?
My $0.02. I think Xr will have great looking text. I think the video will look like that of the 8. I can tell a difference between 8 and 8+ video. I prefer 8+ video resolution.I was considering this jump but I am reading that the display on the xr is lower resolution than the 8+. I went from an 8+ to a MAX. I would miss the 2X camera on the XR. I believe the XR screen will look incredible for apps and text. For video, it could potentially be a downgrade, but it doesn’t seem like a big deal to me.
In general, I am liking the no home button life so far. I think you will like the new gestures in the XR. Face ID works well during the day, but didn’t work so hot when I woke up this morning in darker light. Beyond that, the MAX doesn’t really perform any differently than the 8+ in terms of processor speed, the 8+ is a beast
Leaving out 3D Touch is weird to me.
With the haptic engine I don't expect anyone to notice the difference between actual 3D touch and simulated one. After all it was the taptic engine that was responsible for that haptic feedback. Actual 3D touch is nothing more than a pressure sensitive layer with no haptic response of its own, the subtle feedback(while pressing, scrolling to the end, etc) comes from the taptic engine. The XR has the taptic engine, so it should have the same feedback as 3D touch. All cost cutting. If the XR actually included 3D Touch, I would consider it, even with the 828 P display. Long press is just not the same thing at all, even though Apple was able to create a workaround the XR, that wouldn’t work for me.
