I noticed tonight the top speaker, the one above the screen, is not working. I can’t say exactly when it started happening as I use AirPods most of the time. But tonight I was listening to audio without them and realized there is no sound whatsoever from the upper speaker.

I’ve tried resetting the phone, checked the balance in accessability, checked the volume, ringer switch. All normal. There is simply no sound from that speaker!

I can’t say for sure when this started happening but it could of been since updating to 11.0.1.

I would say if its undecided if it's hardware or software related, if you are within 14 days, I would just exchange it for a new one. Otherwise, you will likely be looking at a repair or replacement device.

So how do you make a call?

For some reason it started working this morning. I have no idea why. All I did was charge it over night and when I tried it again it was working.

I do have AppleCare+ so I definitely would of been covered as far as getting it fixed/replaced. But it seems to have fixed itself. Too weird though.
