I was wanting to get a 256gb iPhone 8 off of apples online store to upgrade from my 6s (buy outright). I know the 11 is coming out soon and probably the 7 will be discounted and the 8 will have a lower price. Do you think the 256gb model 8 will stick around once the 11 is released?

Why are so many obsessed with buying directly from apple?
There are hundreds of other online stores selling it with a discount. Even less in 2 weeks

Totally; I buy everything from Amazon. If you have any problem in the 2 years warranty they send you a new device or 100% refund if the model don´t longer exists, they don´t have repair services.

The only thing is that you´ll find only the standard configurations (for laptops I mean). If you want more ram, processor, etc; you´ll have to go with Apple.

I think so. But we don't know. I wouldn't stress too much over that. Even if Apple removes them from the lineup, you can get them brand new and sealed from Amazon etc. With a price drop, most likely by 100 $ or something like that.

And yes, buying from Apple directly is something i also wanted to experience. My first iPhone 5s came in the mail from the phone company (bought it with a contract), and the 6s i got from Amazon. Brand new and sealed. So when i finally switched after 3 years, i went to an Apple Store to get the 8 Plus. I checked the S/N right after the purchase and imei.info stated that the phone was produced 3 weeks before i bought it. My 6s was a couple of months old already when i got it delivered, i guess it was laying on their shelfes for a while. Not that it matters, but something i found interesting.

Not on Apple's online store. I think old devices like the iPhone 7 & 8 will remain but possibly with reduced storage options to make them 'budget' options.

Like said above, I’d never buy from Apple and pay full retail. There’s plenty of deals out there and in a couple weeks when the new phones are announced, the deals will even better.
