I was going to activate my iPhone today and I got a notice regarding corporate discounts. It said that activating the iPhone would remove and corporate discount I had and I would need to reapply to my plan in order to get my discount again.

Did any one receive this message and how did you work around it? What kind of information was needed in order to get your discount back up and running?

Thanks!

Corporate discounts and iPhone activation.

I purchased an iPhone today. At present I have 4 phone #s on my ATT account, and they all receive a corporate discount. When I called ATT to ask some questions about activating my iPhone, they told me I would lose the discount on ALL four lines, not just the phone number with the iPhone. They said nothing about "re-instating" the discount. Losing the discount takes a $20/mo. additional charge for adding unlimited data to the line with the iPhone, and changes it to more like $70/mo.
If anyone learns more about whether re-instating the corporate discount is possible after the purchase of an iPhone, please post any info.

I returned my iPhone an hour after I bought it once I learned this.

It has been long known and posted there would be no discounts of any kind for phones or service. Not for ATT or Apply employees or anyone else.

With a product this hot, you have to pay to play, at least at this point in the game.

Uhh nope. AT&T employees still have their service discounts. And Apple employees are getting free phones...

Well, we talked to AT&T today and they formally apologized for the inconveniences we have experienced and the misinformation of its customers. Turns out that corporate discounts will remain on the plan and that the discount removal screen will be removed by Monday, July 2. Sounds good to me!

Thanks for your responses and hope this helps the rest of you guys! Sorry GSParker, it looks that you might have been able to keep your iPhone after all!

I signed up and activated my iPhone and the corporate discount still shows on my plan. It does show a + $20 for iPhone plan. $65+$20 for 1000 minutes. Seems like a decent deal to me.

Sounds like you have a great deal! Glad everything worked out for you - I can only hope things are the same for me!
