This has gotten so confusing now with v1 and v2 out, and then activation for v2 etc etc

So for iphone 3g is there an official unlock activation and jailbreak for it yet

Aka can you buy a prepaid iphone 3g without a contract and unlock it to any network???

Are the uk 3g iphones locked to any o2 sim card or what?

Thanks

It's hard to say.

On the one hand you must sign up to a contract before you can take the phone away.

However, because they couldn't upgrade me yet, I was told to use my SIMplicity SIM card (i.e. non-iPhone contract but still O2). It works fine..?

This is so confusing,

however if i was to get an iphone from for eg switzerland witha pre paid option, i can walk away with the handset without signing up to a conbtract.

However obviously an o2 simcard wouldnt work it it, so i assume for this there needs to be some sort of unlock
