iPhone actual storage space (4GB model)

I was wondering if any users out there could tell me how much actual storage space the 4gig iPhone has after lose from formating, and OS/application space (outof box install of course).

example of this: 30gig iPod really holds 27-28 gigs.

This is the 3rd thread Ive posted this info in. I hate people that immediately say "try searching" and dont give any answer so I wont do that.

My 4gb has 3.5gb free space with nothing on it. Ive seen other people say theirs has 3.49gb.
