iPhone AIM automagically Signs out

Hi, I am having trouble with my iPhone using AIM. When I close the AIM it stops all messages and I can get them till I hit AIM again then I have like 10 messages. Is there a way to get a sound or somthing to pop up telling me i have messages?

In AIM, my info, preferences you can have it send you a text when you get a new SMS. I'd expect a push alternative to come when 3.0 comes out.

Yeah there's settings to change how long after you close the app until it signs out.
