Hi,

I saw in initial pictures of the airpower that the iPhone would display all the battery statuses of the devices charging like this:

Now I've taken a look at an article on 9to5mac that shows something similar on the lock screen:

I was just wondering if anyone can confirm that this is what shows up when charging your devices. Other pictures just show the phone at a regular lock screen asking for your passcode.

What situations cause this display to show? Is it only when you first start charging the iPhone? Is it only when the iPhone is charging? Is it only for wireless charging on the same charger? Will it display the airpods if that is the only item charging? I can't find answers to any of these questions.

Well I have an answer here. I tweeted the author of the 9to5mac asking the question.

Apparently the Smart Battery Case charge level refers the the actual phone case with a battery, not the airpod case. So... it looks like the lock screen showing the charge level of every device may have indeed been exclusive to the AirPower. :/

Or could just have been something along the lines of a (marketing type of) rendering.

It would be so nice if they could at least bring those charging animations back, if we dont get airpower. My wireless airpods charge extremely unreliably on a belkin charge pad sold by apple, and It would be nice to see what's going on without having to dig into the battery widget all the time. Charging really goes on and off.
