iphone alert vibrate pattern

i found a thread that had a zip file in it where you could change the vibrate on alerts from one short 'bzzz' to whatever you wanted. the zip file included 3 1 second vibrate patterns. it's a great improvement over stock. however, after having it for a week or two, i'd much prefer only 2 vibrations rather than 3.
i can't seem to find the thread and can't remember the how-to on how to do this! any help?

that definitely wasn't the same post i read, but achieves basically the same thing. although, the poster says it changes the phone vibrate as well? i don't recall the other hack doing that.

it also doesn't say which .plist to modify. i tried opening a couple and don't see what he's showing.

you need to register to see the file, which you download and copy into the location mentioned on the post

it only changes the sms vibrate pattern, nothing else

however, there are three different places in the downloadable file where you can change the duration. which one am i supposed to change?
