After using the field test mode (dialing *3001#12345#* )today my iphone 3G is stuck displaying decibels in stead of signal bars. Normally it goes back to bars when leaving the field test mode. I have tried turning airplane mode off and on, as well as power cycle and full reset. I guess I may have to do a restore when I get home. Has anyone had this happen to them? I'm running the latest 2.02 software.

When not in field test mode should it still have the option to switch back in forth? I just tried it on my friends iPhone, and his only switches between bars and digits when in the field test mode. Crazy...
