iphone and itunes

Hi all about 14 days ago my macbook hdd died and i had to get a new one, after i install everything from a backup, it seems that i can't get my iphone to connect to itunes now, can some one please help me out here as this disabled person is getting ready to run his iphone over

Try to download the latest version of itunes and update your iphone to the latest version.

I have the latest itunes, and can't download the latest iphone software as the phone wont connect to itune.
