I recently had to reset my iPhone 13 to fix a problem with newly downloaded apps not appearing (I could find them via search, but they didn't appear on any of my screens). Anyway, since the reset my phone no longer is connected to my Mac and iPad for messages and calls. I googled about messages and found the fix was Settings>Messages Tap Text Forwarding. Unfortunately the Text Forwarding option doesn't exist on my phone (I'm running the latest iOS). Any ideas?

Can’t help you with the Mac problem but the hidden apps were likely in the App Library on the last home page. Drag them out of there. There’s a setting in Settings to make sure that downloaded apps end up on a Home Screen and not in the App Library.

Make sure your Mac software is up to date. New iPhones need it to communicate

No, my new apps weren't on the last page, but after the reset I was able to re-download them and they are appearing. The Apple Tech had no idea why they weren't appearing before the reset.

As for my Mac its software is up to date. Thanks though.
