I had an issue just turn up recently that I cannot seem to resolve. It seems that if I try to send an text to a mix of subjects that are iPhone and non-iPhone, the text message will not be delivered. If I send to just iPhone recipients, it will send as iMessage without issue. If I send to just non-iPhone recipients, it will send as a text message just fine.

It just seems to be an issue if there is a mix of iPhone and non-iPhone users. I am actually seeing this issue on two different phones with two different providers (VZW and AT&T).

Anyone have any ideas about this or have seen this before?

Thanks,

I've had this same issue in a group chat with a mix of iPhone and Android users. It usually seems to be on the Android end where the problem lies. I have MMS, group messaging and send as SMS all turned on under the message settings.

Usually to alleviate this, as it doesn't happen all the time, I create a group FB chat and just use the app to talk to everyone. But I'd still love to know what is the cause of it (our group also is a mix of VZW, AT&T and T-Mobile).

I ran into this recently where I was trying to group message my family. I couldn't add the Android user to my group and have it send. When I added the Android user first, then the iPhone users it worked as an SMS for all users. They were all able to reply as well.

I did get this resolved by performing a Reset All Settings on both phones. Not sure what the issue was though.
