Step:1-Get a t-mobile plan with Edge/internete with free phone take sim out
Step:2-Buy iphone
Step:3-pick windows or mac Download software from ziphone.org
step:4-Run software
step:5-Use pin or paper clip to take iphone sim out from top of iphone
step:6-Take t-mobile sim and insert in the iphone holder and put back in
Step:7-Use itunes to put songs or videos on your iphone
step:8-Have a very cool phone!:apple:

yea,But most times they well give you a free phone @ tmobile store and you can just resell for a couple bucks but with prepaid you cant use the internet.:apple:

awesome relplies...i have had a phone and plan already for a year or two and just needed some steps to get the iphone and t-mobile working with my sim card and unlock it. probably should have clarified that earlier. in regards to the updates n such has anyone had much trouble relocking it for the update then ulocking it again?

Hi cave12man, I don't know about the website linked to above (and my company's websense filters it), but I'm using an iPhone on T-Mobile myself.

I used an application called ZiPhone. You can find it at ziphone.org. You just hook your iPhone up to a computer and run ZiPhone and follow the steps to activate/unlock/jailbreak. Really easy, had it up and running on T-Mobile within ten minutes after opening the box.

One other thing. If you have the Blackberry Data Plan, you'll need to, on the iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Network and add wap.voicestream.com under the APN field. If you have the T-Mobile Total Internet Plan for smartphones, you'll want to add internet2.voicestream.com as the APN.

Both plans are the same price, but I'd recommend the Total Internet Plan as it also gives you free access to all T-Mobile access points, including the ones at Starbucks and airports.

I'm using 1.1.3. Haven't upgraded to 1.1.4 yet, but a new iPhone will probably come with 1.1.4. Regardless, I can just do a Restore in iTunes and then update with no trouble, then run the latest version of iPhone to re-unlock it.

exactly what i wanted to know this was a huge help. i have heard people having some trouble with the lock unlock and wanted some clarification.

many thanks

I have an iphone on at&t and am planning to sell it in a while so i can upgrade to the next iphone.. ive discovered that iphones that are unlocked are going for a higher price than those that aren't. So if i posted saying i could unlock it can i just take out my sim, restore it, run the ziphone unlock setting, and then put whoever buys my phone sim in it and they'd be up and running??? do i need a sim in the phone as i run ziphone? thanks

Hi i just bought an iphone a few days ago and have unlocked it and am using it on tmobile...i have a couple questions that i was hoping someone would be able to help me out with.

I used the ziphone 2.5 and i have 1.1.3

Whenever i go to the installer and install one of the apps it says downloadd failed

also i can not get my youtube to connect

can someone pleasee help me out?

but if im running 1.1.3, wouldnt i have to lock the phone back to att (ziphone - restore?) before upgrading to 1.1.4?

Thanks for the help

ok i have upgraded to 1.1.4 and my youtube works now.

however, when i open the installer and go to install games or themes or wallpapers it tells me package download failed.

does anyone know why?>

Thank you
