Hi,

I’m planning on buying the iPhone 15 when it gets released. I’m currently on AT&T however I might switch to Verizon soon after receiving the iPhone. I’ve heard that AT&T locks the phone however if I choose the Apple Card Monthly Installments option and activate it using AT&T replacing my current phone/line, would the phone still be locked to AT&T or would it be unlocked so that I can switch to Verizon? Also, could I still do the Apple Card monthly payments even if I switch carriers?

Thanks

Only locked to AT&T if you are on an AT&T installment plan. Apple monthly installments are not an AT&T installment plan.

Will my new iPhone be unlocked?

Yes. An iPhone purchased from apple.com(Opens in a new window) is unlocked. Once your new iPhone is activated, it remains unlocked, which means you can use it with any network that provides service for iPhone. The exception is when you buy an iPhone with an AT&T Installment Plan. It will be locked to AT&T and will only work on the AT&T network for the term of your Installment Plan
