My iphone will only launch Apple applications, for some reason all my purchased apps fail to launch. I have never had this issue before. It all started when my iphone battery died. I recharged the battery and after the usual 5-10 minute period between dead and restart my phone started up again except it took about 10 minutes and nothing happened. Basically my phone was stuck on startup for 10 minutes with the white Apple Logo on black background, so I reset the iphone. After another unusually long startup of about 3 minutes I get a dialog box that pops up saying that my phone is now activated. The only other time that I have seen that message was when I first activated my phone. Everything is normal and all my settings are there except no third party apps will launch!! I have restored my iphone with my most recent backup in itunes but the problem is still there. I could try to use an older backup or do a clean install but I don't want to do that as the next oldest backup is over 3 months old and I don't want to loose contact, calendar, and other settings. Any insight or info on this issue would be appreciated.

As stated in the link, the deauthorize/reauthorize solution seems to fix this for most people.

As far as restoring as new goes, your contacts and calendar are synced, so no need to worry about a backup for that. If you haven't synced those and other things for some reason, you should do so (contacts sync to Address Book on a Mac and Outlook or Windows Address Book on a PC; Calendar syncs to iCal on a Mac and Outlook on a PC).

thanks for the advice. however the problem seemed to resolve itself on its own after leaving the phone off for some 12 hours.
