Guys, major panic mode here!

I JB my iPhone 4. Got Cydia no problem. But then the phone rebooted and when it came back on all my standard iPhone apps are missing.

No problem I thought, I'll just restore from Backup on iTunes and then re JB.

But iTunes won't allow this as I have Find My iPhone enabled. And I can't turn this off as I don't have Settings as they're part of the standard iPhone apps!

Help please… real bad :(

OK! Managed to resolve this. Phew!

But does anyone know why this happened?

I still wanna jailbreak. Just want to know how not to go through this again!

Hi mate. I'm using 7.0.4. I updated via iTunes.

Everything was done as per instructions on evasi0n.

You can always go into DFU mode even with find my iPhone set one. It will just tell you to put it in the email and password you used on find my iPhone when the iPhone is done restoring.

Care to share the fix in case it happens to others?

My bad. Sorry.

I put the phone into DFU mode and restored via iTunes.

After a very nervous hour(ish) my phone was back to stock. Phew!

I then plucked up the courage to try the JB again.

This time though, not only did I switch off pass code lock (which I also did in the failed attempt) but I also switched off sim lock and find my iphone.

Then I JB via evasion.

Thankfully this time all worked perfectly.

just be careful of what tweaks you install and the device should be fine

I've just noticed on Cydia that a lot of tweaks, utilities etc are in Chinese. Is this normal? Or have I inadvertently Jailbroken the infamous Chinese version?

did you install any additional repos?

It all depends on which repos you installed and what tweaks you're looking at
