iPhone as a remote control

Is it possible to somehow pair an iPhone to an iMac and use it as a remote control? Or any other phone for that matter, in theory a Samsung etc. with Bluetooth should pair (says this uneducated dunce).
 
I use rowmote pro on my phone and ipad (its great on the ipad) as a remote control for my MBP when it is connected to my TV all the time.
