iphone + att problem grrr

so i had a samsung eternity with a 10 dollar data plan

then i bought an already jailbroken 3.0.1 iphone 3g

and on the att website it shows that i have an iphone BUT the data plan isnt selected

and it changed by itself i didnt do it

and in the top of phone where the wifi symbol is there is a 3g symbol

and on my cousins ipod he doenst have the 3g or edge badge on his phone and his iphone doenst show up on his account online like mine does

what should i do
