I have a problem with syncing audible books on my iPhone (both my the 3G and the previous v1). Having checked the box for the multiple parts that make up a book the sections sucessfully sync across to the iPhone.

However unlike books bought in iTunes the audible books appear only as the name of the section (ie Part 1, Part 2 etc) and NO book titles. Therefore if I have two or more audible books loaded I am presented with a list of secitons for instance (ie Part 1, Part 1, Part 2.....etc).

I access the books on the iPhone as follows: iPod > Audiobooks > audible and from there it goes straight into parts.

In addition I cannot find either the book title or artist within the general search fields.

I have spoken to Audible and they cannot help as they cannot replicate the problem; I am still waiting for Apple to respond.

Any help appreciated!!!

So the books come over Audible Download Manager and import successfully into iTunes, correctly separated by author, title, and part #, but they go wonky when syncing to the phone? Weird. Wish I could help. I've never seen that, and I always have at least 2 Audible books on the phone, generally 3 or more. And I sync daily. Good luck with the problem, I'll be interested in the solution.

I am having the same problem. Did you ever find a resolution to your problem?

No solution even with 2.2. Books arrive in multiple parts and are stored on the iPhone in the same way no matter what I do. Strangely if i buy the same book via iTunes this doesnt happen and i can store the parts under the same heading.

guess i have got used to it now but it still bugs.

Correct. If I download them on my iPod all the separate parts are stored correctly within the same title but when i put them on my iPhone the separate parts remain separate no matter what i do within iTunes or the file structure on the PC.

half a solution to audible > iphone

I have two issues that are minor but annoying. If I understand correctly the first is that which is described in this thread. I found that if I give each part of an audiobook the same album name they group successfully onto my iPhone when sync'd. The audible default seems to be not to provide an album name. As a note - iTunes will re-sync your audiobook library if you put everything into album groupings. This can require a long sync depending on library size.

My second issue is that I must click thru an additional folder to access my audible content on my iPhone. It is a minor but frequent annoyance as I subscribe to two books a month through audible. I am guessing it is because audible uses the .aa format instead of the itms default of .mb4, but I haven't confirmed this yet. If I am correct I am not sure the annoyance of having to convert every part of every book is worth the offset of having to click...

iPod>audiobooks>Audible>"book title"
