I'm doing the iOs 4 update and my iPhone back-up is taking forever! is this normal?

Mine took forever, didn't take 2 hours but it's a 16GB 3G, are you backing up a 32GB 3GS?

i have an 8gig 3g and i just canceled it. im gonna retry.

About 1 1/4 hours all in for me. 16GB 3G - just had the message it's being restored to factory settings and is restarting. Guess I'm just about there!

Yeah, it takes a long time. Fortunately, I did a sync when 9.2 came out a few days back (mine took around an hour), and so the sync this time was only a few minutes.

Did just did a backup earlier to be prepared just for this. Well its doing a backup again for the install which is now at 1-1/2hr and maybe 10% of the bar.

Weird. From start of update, my update process took less than 30 minutes (including OS4 download and a minutes-long backup). :(

Been at it for over an hour and it's still stuck here.

3G/8GB

Right, just cleared down my iPhone so there is no music, video or apps and only 500mb of data. Backup is still taking ages. Is Apple copying all my info and sending it back to their Death Star or something ;)

Mine didn't speed up until the n or g of backing, but now restoring applications is taking a long time. 2hrs and counting for total time.

Forget that, it's been labouring on the restoring apps bar for a while - still no swipey swipey clicky clicky.

Oh hell, now it's going on to restoring music and videos. Given that this is the main bulk of my GBs I'm thinking it's going to be well over the 2 1/2 hours already taken.
