Few months ago i got a Job and i Bought an iPhone 8 from my hard earned money.
Now seeing many roumors that apple intentionally throttling CPU’s of iPhones

So Any tips for elongated Battery life span?
Because I don’t want to spend $80 for battery replacemnt after 1yr
I’m willing to use this phone for atleast 3-4years

I mean charging and sync does it wear out more battery?

I don’t use wireless charging
And does draining completely and topping to 100% does this practice increases wear level early ?

I will stay away from fast-charging. Half of the family with various models used 10/12W adapters and all of our batteries died in couple of years. Rest of them still work great - even the oldest 5s.

Try to keep the battery level between 20-80%. Don’t leave the phone plugged in after the charge is complete.

Avoid fast charging or anything that will significantly raise the temperature of battery. Use the included 5W charger.

Limit the use of processor intensive applications that produce significant amounts of heat. Remove the case if you do so.

This. Don’t let it drop to 0%, charge it when at 20-30%. Don’t leave it plugged in during the day and if you need to try unplugging it when it hits 80%.

Also heat is a killer for batteries. Don’t let it heat up by playing games and charging st the same time or leaving it in the sun etc.

Mmmmmm.... to really answer your question, it will depend on whether or not you want all the features Apple provides: background refresh, push services, fancy animations, SIRI, siri, YouTube app, uber app, Siri sugggestions, etc.

If you can live without things on you phone, turn 'em off.

Using your screen less will help day to day.

Also, use auto brightness, but move the slider down just enough till you can't stand the darkness anymore.... which is only a few mm for me.

*not the Siri call up feature, I'm talking about the Siri suggestions nonsense. Turn off everything where the phone thinks for you and automates tasks, thus making it less of a smart phone.

What they’re sayin is just Don’t use it
Well, pretty much... yeah. The less you use your device, the less you'll have to worry about replacing the battery or getting a gimped processor.

So... maybe think of it like having a delicious chocolate bar. You can keep it forever, but you'll never get to taste the sweet chocolate.

So, with all things: moderation. (And you won't go crazy worrying) just try to enjoy the phone, and if you notice it slowing down in a year......... I'm sure you'll have saved up 80$ by then :D

Do YouTube app and Uber app drain battery when not being used?

I've read around here that people using YouTube and Facebook app use more battery than they should be allowed to. Uber app I heard one report of it being a battery suck (don't give background refresh and location until you need it?)

I don't know for sure, though, because I don't use any of those three: terrible companies, all of them.

If you disable auto play videos in Facebook, it seems to stop background usage when the app isn't being used...therefore helping battery life.

Is it bad to use an iPad brick to charge an iPhone? Our entire household does this.. did this for years but we rarely have a phone over 2 years.

Running your device in Low Power Mode at all times will help with overall battery longevity.

Also, switch off anything in iOS that you don't need / use.
Maybe marginally, but still. Not sure I'd recommend this.

I am also ocd about battery health. Because of that, I bought a $50 battery case so I can ALWAYS keep my phone between 50-80%, since that's the sweet spot for lithium ion batteries.

The best battery tip is just not to worry so much about it.
Just use and enjoy your phone. In all likelihood the battery will be fine for years. Worst case scenario, you get the battery replaced in a couple of years. However, every iPhone I've owned was used by me and then passed on to a family member for a total usage within my family of at least 3-4 years. They're never had their original batteries replaced, and they've never failed to give a full day's use at least.

I only just sold a 5s (4 years old) with a healthy original battery. I still have a 3Gs in a drawer with its original battery, and it still works. I mean, treat your battery well. Adjust settings to be efficient where possible, but I don't think it's worth doing things that are going to inconvenience you like trying to always hover the charge in 50-80% range just to maybe squeeze a couple of extra months out of the battery's life span. You'll probably be ready to retire the phone for other reasons before the battery fails, or, like I said, worst case scenario you can get it replaced.

Since apple is officially said in a statement that MacBooks charging brick works as a fast charger

Does it mean apple intensionally want to degrade battery health
Also i use a 10Watt iPad mini charging brick does it destroy battery early?

This kind of charging doesn't degrade the health as much as the implication.
