iPhone battery pack / external battery

I did a title search expecting to find a quality thread about battery packs and external batteries but only found a scattering of threads and some thread from 2008. So if your thread didn't have the obvious word 'battery' in the title ... oh well.

For those on-the-go moments I've been using my Eneloop KBC-L2 5000mAh battery pack but the whole cable/battery pack thing is a bit cumbersome to say the least.


At the moment I'm between a Mophie of some sort and the Mili.


Thoughts? I figure I can get some good responses before this thread receives the deathblow (move to iPhone Accessories lol)

Monoprice has some cheap clip-on versions. Nothing to jump up and down about but since they start at less than $9, they're worth considering.

i bought one off ebay for 8 bucks (1900mah). works great for the price. charges the iphone 3GS completely (5% to 100%) with still 25% remaining, so I am very happy with it.

How do you charge the Monoprice battery back? Can it charge with the iPod/iPhone USB to dock cable?
