Other iPhone Battery Replacement Info & Help

Hi I need to replace the battery on my iPhone se 2020. I am currently using ios15 on it and font want to upgrade to ios17 as I heard there is some sensitive eye issues with ios17 even on lcd. If I have my battery replaced with they update my iOS to 17 or will it do it automatically? I don’t want thst. Will that happen if I take it to Apple store? What if I try a different place to change my battery? If so any recommendations? Thanks fir tour info and help.

Apple will only replace the battery, they won't update iOS.

I was told they would restore the phone when replacing battery and that will update the iOS also.

Ain't nobody got time for that. Apple Store will simply replace battery and send it your way.

I talked to two different people from Apple today and was told two different things. One make sure they font and font and another person says they have to when u change battery and phone restores.

"Generally speaking" they'll just replace the battery & send you on your way.

However - sometimes the battery tape breaks when they remove it, in which case they toss your phone in a bin to be sent into the factory, and provide you with a replacement that is on iOS 17.

So in short - you're not guaranteed to get iOS 17 but it could happen.

It’s possible they may need to if something goes wrong during the battery replacement but they won’t update it unless they have to.
