Well, this is what it's happening with my iPhone.

One day I noticed the battery was dead in the morning. I am sure it was half the night before.

After that my iPhone began to show some issues.

First, the battery life is about less than 10 h/day, even if I don't use iPod, Internet, mail. It drains even in standby. I do not check my e-mail automatically, I turned off the SSH and I did all tips you can find about battery drain.

Second, after a full charge my iPhone just go dead. Nothing works. It only comes back to life if reset. But it keeps doing that a couple of times until a certain time using iPhone. It happens all the time.

So, I decided to replace the battery. But, after that, I still got the same problems. Same! So, I figured out it was not the battery, but some kind of power management...

One more thing; every time I plug it to the power it seems the battery icon changes. Sometimes show more power or less power left. Or it keeps the same when I plug it using USB2 (MBP)

Well that's it.

Any help?

Seems like a iTunes restore might be in your iPhone's future. It is difficult to make a recommendation because there is little detail about the actual state of your phone. Has it always done this? Did changing firmware do anything? Is your phone hacked/jailbroken/unlocked? If so, do you have apps that run in the background? Does your phone battery die even if you leave the phone powered off? Etc., and so on.

Has it always done this?

No. It began after one month using it.

Did changing firmware do anything?

No. That was my hope, but it is now running 1.1.3. It was 1.0.2.

Is your phone hacked/jailbroken/unlocked?

Yes, yes and...yes. :)

Does your phone battery die even if you leave the phone powered off?

I tested it once, and the battery was dead. But I tested only one time.

Thank you.

take it to your nearest apple store and get it the phone replaced.

I can't. :( :D

what's causing it:
probably SSH, or some random apps you've installed.

quick fix:
install services found under networks, switch off SSH. if ssh can't be switched off (not there), you'll need to do a restore.

proper fix:

restore to 1.1.4 and use Ziphone 2.5 to unlock it.

Thank you, but I did the update and nothing changed.

This time I did not install any third application, BSD and SSH.

Is there any kind of a total reset...?

Last night I let the battery drain until the end and put it to charge.

Today I was monitoring the USAGE numbers and noticed that standby and usage were very accurate. I thought that it was fix because it was less than 20 minutes usage and 5h standby. But after that the usage number suddenly jumped to 1h18m...almost 1h usage more than previously.

Now I am almost sure it is a software problem. Or not. :D

Any help?
