iPhone Blocking a phone number but not messages?

Hey guys

I have a situation where i need to prevent someone calling me from now on, however I would like to be able to see messages still encase of an emergency.

Is there a method to achieve this? As to my knowledge doesnt blocking a number block both calls and texts?

Blocking a number through the contact information will block both phone calls and messages. I do not know of any way of allowing just texts to come through unless both of you are on a third party app together.

Try talking with your service provider, but I'm not aware of a solution within iOS.

I believe iBlacklist has this functionality. Alas, jailbreak only. It's not free either.
